The gospel of Matthew traces the life of Jesus starting with his lineage and his birth (which we examined during the seasons of Advent and Christmas), all the way through to His death and resurrection and beyond. After his resurrection, we find this near the gospels’ ending - Matthew 28:17 - When they saw him (Jesus), they worshiped him; but some doubted. It is the case today, too, that some worship Him, while others doubt Him. In this new sermon series, beginning January 7, my hope is that by focusing on seven different days in the life of Jesus, as shared by Matthew, we will come to worship Him deeply, and have doubts diminish. Our series lasts through Easter (March 31). During the entire season of Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter) we will pay special attention to arguably the biggest event in world history – the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life on earth.
